We are heartbroken to report that Chloe The Mini Frenchie has passed away. The Instagram-famous French bulldog was only 4 years old. In an emotional message, her dog mom and owner, Loni Edwards, shared the tragic news with Chloe's 179k Instagram followers.

The adorable pup went to the veterinarinan for a "routine procedure," and was brought to a clinic to be watched overnight. Sadly, the staff at the emergency vet hospital incorrectly gave her oxygen and she went into cardiac arrest.

"We're numb and heartbroken to share that Chloe has gone to heaven. She was perfectly healthy this morning when she went in for a routine procedure and did great with the surgery like the fighter she was. She was then brought to Blue Pearl in Chelsea for overnight observation for extra safety and the staff there erroneously directly attached the oxygen to her, the pressure of which blew out her lungs, lead to multiple cardiac arrests and ultimately killed her," Loni wrote.

"[Chloe] fought so so hard to stay with us, but the fatal error was simply too much for our little nugget to overcome. Thank you for loving Chloe these past four years. She was an incredible pup and we're going to miss her so so much."

Her friends and admirers have been posting tributes on social media, and everyone is in shock over Chloe's sudden and untimely passing. Samson The Goldendoodle shared a photo with little Chlo and wrote, "I met Chloe through this wonderful dog world – I know she brought countless smiles & joy to everyone who met her ?✨ My heart goes out to her family for their tragic loss. ?"

NachoDogg wrote, "We are devastated to hear about the passing of our beautiful friend @chloetheminifrenchie ? She was the cutest nugget to have ever graced our hearts and she will be greatly missed. Love you Chlo ❀️ #chloetheminifrenchie #ripchloe."

Chloe will certainly be missed. She was scheduled to host a Howloween Happy Hour on Saturday to benefit those affected by Hurricane Maria, and she was also set to appear at PetCon in NYC. (Full disclosure: the J-14 team got very attached to her when she visited our office. Her dog mom, Loni, also runs a management company for famous animals called The Dog Agency.) Our thoughts are with Chloe The Mini Frenchie and her family. May she rest in peace in doggie heaven.
