The brand new Netflix series 13 Reasons Why may have just premiered last week, but there is already speculation of another season. And according to executive producer Selena Gomez and leading lady Katherine Langford, it really is a total possibility.

In case you're not familiar with the premise of the show, it is all about unveiling secrets. The story follows the story of a teen boy named Clay (played by Dylan Minnette), who is trying to find out why his crush Hannah (Katherine Langford) decided to end her life. How does he do this? By listening to the 13 audio tapes Hannah left behind. Each recording is numbered in blue nail polish and reveals which classmates are a reason why she's gone.

Very appropriately, 13 Reasons Why lasts for thirteen episodes. However, it ended on a note that leaves the story very open-ended. WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!

So here is all the unfinished business that left many more stories to tell. In the last episode, Hannah's parents receive a USB loaded with the audio files of Hannah's tapes. As they begin to listen to the recordings, it becomes apparent that they could probably use this as evidence in the lawsuit they're in with the school.

Besides that, there are still so many questions the audience has about the people involved in the tapes. The biggest mystery is Alex, who remains in critical condition at the end of the show after it was revealed that he shot himself. Not only are viewers worried about his well-being, but they are also curious about Tyler's trunk full of guns. What was even scarier were the photos he had hanging up on the wall of those in Hannah's tapes. Was he planning the unthinkable, getting his own revenge on the other people in the audio recordings?

While many assumed that the series would be a one season type of deal, Selena and Katherine hinted in a recent interview that maybe it is not completely over after all. Yep, that's right. There is definitely a chance the show might just continue on to a second season.

"We don't know what is going to go beyond it, but we know there are so many stories that lie beneath each character. That's why it became a series in the first place. So we'll see," Selena said.

So there it is! How exciting would that be? Although Selena didn't totally confirm that there will for sure be more episodes, her response makes it sounds like the cast and crew could be pretty open to the idea – and Katherine seems to agree.

"There's definitely more story to tell. It would be cool to continue the dialogue of this story. There are so many cliffhangers at the end of the season. At the end of the season, I had to sit back. I didn't think about what happens next. It's more of this feeling like, 'Oh my God, that's the story that needed to be told,'" Katherine said.

Only time will tell!
