Demi Lovato is no stranger to the entertainment industry. As a matter of fact, she got her start at a very young age. She and Selena Gomez actually met as kids while auditioning for Barney & Friends, which they each booked roles for. From there, Demi continued to act and sing – and her hard work eventually led to her to becoming one of the biggest Disney Channel stars of her time.

When it comes to child stars who transitioned into huge mainstream artists, Demi immediately comes to mind. But would she do it all over again if given the chance? Believe it or not, she wouldn’t.

The Disney Channel alum spoke with YouTube’s head of original programming at a press conference in France to discuss her new YouTube docuseries called Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated, and she weighed in on just how child acting affected her.

“I wouldn’t start that young if I could do it over again. It was a difficult transition from child star to transforming into a mainstream artist. It’s something that is very challenging,” Demi revealed.

We’re looking forward to hearing more inside scoop about Demi’s life when her docuseries debuts later this year.
