Demi Lovato seems to be doing really well dealing with her father's death and is now using what he battled with throughout his life as an inspiration to help others with the same problems.
On her Good Morning America interview this morning, Demi talked about how she loved her father very much, even though they haven't spoken in years because of his mental health and addiction problems. Her father's struggle made her realize she needed to help other people dealing with the same issues before it's too late.
To make a change, Demi is creating the Lovato Treatment Scholarship, a program which will partner with CAST Recovery to cover the expenses of treatment for those struggling with mental health or addiction issues.
After the interview, Demi posted the following message to her fans on Twitter:
I believe that everything happens for a reason and I want some good to come out of my father's passing...— demetria lovato (@ddlovato) June 27, 2013
