Friends and fans across the world have been sending Selena Gomez all the best, since the singer revealed that she’d undergone surgery for her kidneys over the summer. Even those who are no longer close with Sel, such as her ex Nick Jonas and friend, Demi Lovato are in complete amazement of the bravery that went behind the songstress’ decision to go public with this announcement and raise awareness for Lupus.

Although Demi and Selena are no longer close, the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer has admitted that she’ll always have love for the Wizards of Waverly Place star, and still considers her a friend. That’s no surprise considering they’ve known one another since their days as little babies on Barney & Friends. So of course Demi’s reaction to hearing the news about the “Bad Liar” singer’s procedure was full of nothing but praise. She told People, “I think that she is a very strong woman. I’m very happy and proud of her.”

No matter what has gone on in their friendship, it’s clear that they’ve been able to get past it and reach a point where they can continuously root for one another. Though we’ll always hold those fond memories of when the two were inseparable absolutely close. Who knows, maybe one day they will be able to get back to that place.

Nick Jonas also shared his thoughts on Selena’s honesty, and he also had nothing but positive things to say about his ex. Despite being a power couple during their Disney days, the two have also maintained a great friendship as well. The “Fetish” singer even played him her Revival album before it was released to the world.

During an interview with SiriusXM’s Hit’s 1, the “Jealous” singer revealed, “I was just as surprised as everyone else when I woke up and saw her Instagram. But wow, that's just incredible, and the strength she's shown through all of that is inspiring. I'm pumped for her. I'm happy to see she's doing well.” We are too, Nick. We’re glad to see Sel living her best life and raising awareness for an illness that affects so many.
