Demi Lovato has come a long way since last fall's altercation with backup dancer Alex Welch. While some might choose to forget about the incident and pretend it never happened, Demi has opened up and given her fans full honesty in hopes they may learn from her mistakes.

Demi admits her problems started long before her fight on the Camp Rock tour. "I was completely out of line all summer," Demi says. "Just the worst attitude -- totally ungrateful. I just felt like [Alex had] betrayed me. When you punch someone on a plane, enough is enough. Right after, I texted my mom and just said, 'I'm sorry.' "
And though some might argue that her breakup with Joe Jonas was the cause of her breakdown, Demi is clearing up that rumor once and for all. "I wouldn't credit my meltdown to a guy," she reveals. "There was so much other stuff in my life."

Much of Demi's sadness came from memories of her school days where girls tormented her for no reason. "Those girls never gave me an explanation for why they were bullying me," she says. "One of the words they called me was fat. At that age, you think, 'Oh, so I don't have friends because I'm fat.'"
Now, Demi has turned a new leaf and finally feels confident again -- she even Tweeted a photo of herself in a bikini, something she never would have done before.
Do you think Demi Lovato is becoming a positive role model for her fans now that she has turned her life around?
