When Demi Lovato was on Katie Couric's show, Katie, she had a lot to say about her Disney pal, Miley Cyrus. She knew the "Wrecking Ball" star has been taking a lot of heat lately and decided to stick up for her friend once again.
When asked about her thoughts on Miley's recent behavior, she said, "I think she knows what she's doing... a lot of artists take that route of shock value and that's totally fine and that's great."
Although she thinks she's smart, Demi also thinks Miley's talents are becoming hidden.
"She has such a incredible voice that's overshadowed by some of the things that she's doing," Demi continued. "It's her journey. She's having fun. She's being who she is. I'll always love her, she's been one of my friends since I was like 14."
When Katie brought up how Miley is getting a lot of negative feedback from parents who knew her as Hannah Montana, Demi said, "The world kind of needs to get over the fact that she was Hannah Montana when she was 16."
