See Which Characters Were Recast In 'Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul'

Fans are not happy about the newest Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie. The latest installment of the franchise, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, has actually replaced the main characters who audiences have come to know and love. The new actors will take on the roles of the Heffley family and it's safe to say this move did not sit well with Wimpy Kid fanatics!

It all started when the trailer for the new movie came out and everyone realized what was going on. Most people were extremely upset about Rodrick Heffley who was played by Devon Bostick. The whole thing started the hashtag, #NotMyRodrick.

Seriously, the fandom is freaking out and they do have a point. They have grown up with the original Heffley cast and to suddenly change them up is completely tearing apart the nostalgia that comes with the Wimpy Kid movies.

Now, there's more bad news. It wasn't just Rodrick Heffley that was recast, it was all of them. From Greg Heffley to Susan Heffley – they look totally different now. We decided to put them all in one place for fans just so they can see how different or the same the new actors look compared to the old ones.

The movie is set to hit theaters May 19, 2017. Will YOU go see it or boycott because of the recast?

To be honest, we can't bash the new actors just yet. They could be creating something that is totally incredible. The old Heffley family were the classics, but they have grown up a bit. Now, it's time for a new generation to show us what they can do and how they do justice to such an amazing storyline. One thing is for certain, they have very large shoes to fill!
