Charli XCX threw shade at Simon Cowell's company Syco Music — AKA One Direction, Little Mix, and Fifth Harmony's record label! While she praised the former X Factor judge, she claims that he doesn't make good music.
"I think Simon Cowell's cool, I'd love to be in that position, but from the point of view of making music that's not [crap]," she said in an interview with Q magazine.

In fact, the singer insists she doesn't want to make music that's anything like the stuff you'll find on Syco.
"I couldn't make any pop music because I hated pop music. I just didn't want to think about it I wanted to be free. It was a case of getting it out of my system. I felt stuck."
While obviously, she should be free to make whatever music she wants, we think it's kind of funny that she threw shade at the whole genre, especially when it comes to some of our favorite bands. In fact, there are so many acts that we love on that record label, from Ella Henderson to Olly Murs to Alex & Sierra. We don't think Simon is making bad music!
