As fans know, Dove Cameron is a bit of a chameleon when it comes to her hair. She’s had long locks, then gone the short and trendy route with the lob. The Liv and Maddie star has also dabbled a bit with temporarily going pink at Coachella, and everyone knows what she would look like with purple hair thanks to the iconic wig she wears as Mal in the Descendants films. Now the actress is trying her boldest look yet. She’s saying goodbye to her blonde tresses, and hello to brunette locks. Yes, Dove just totally shocked us all by showing off her dark side. Though it’s not known whether or not she’s actually taken the plunge with hair dye and extensions, or is just using wig to channel this new look. Either way, the actress looks totally flawless, just as everyone assumed.
On Instagram, Dove shared the transformation with fans by letting them know it’s not a permanent change. She will be back to her signature blonde soon, the black hair is just for a super secret project she’s currently working on. Her caption on the picture reads, “in another life ??
((working on something fun)).”
Is it just us, or does Dove look almost unrecognizable? Of course she looks absolutely incredible, which is pretty much what fans in the picture’s comments section have been letting her know; but it is a little weird seeing her go so drastically dark. Though this transformation proves that when it comes to trying out a new hair color, the Disney Channel star can clearly do no wrong.
We can’t help but wonder what other colors Dove might think about dying her hair in the future. Maybe a strawberry blonde or a bright and bold blue? We’ll just have to wait and see what she will try next.
