Let it be known – Dove Cameron can’t release her music quite yet, but she really, really wants to. While she is officially signed to Columbia/Disruptor Records, things are still in the works. The star recently took to Twitter to let her fans know that the procces is all going v well.

Since wrapping Descendants 3, the starlet has been hard at work in the recording studio, banging out all the songs she’s written so far. She’s clearly having a blast and creating some bangers! In fact, she just confirmed that she has a solid ten songs ready to go.
we officially have 10 songs 💓

While Dove had previously taken to social media to reveal the artwork for her very first upcoming single, titled “Talks About,” it’s not even definite that “Talks About” will even be the first single. She’s got ten whole songs now, after all.
It’s even possible we might not actually get to hear “Talks About” at all. As she explained to a fan on Twitter, that song — which she once described as “a love song in the lyrics only” in an interview with RAW — was recorded so long ago. She made that song when she was still unsigned, and now might not fit into the musical direction she’s currrently creating.
i’ve said this before, but i recorded it when i was not w my label i am w now. so it may be released, it may not be. if we have better songs, it’s smarter to wait to release it & not have it be the 1st one. if we still love it w this new sound, it will come when the time is right https://t.co/hWPql7LlpP

So we’ll just have to wait and see if we ever end up hearing this tune, but it’s nice to know music is being worked on, so that’s what counts. As for what kind of vibes we can expect from her music? Dove previously explained what she was aiming for sounds a little like pop, but more rough around the edges.
“It’s definitely in the realm of pop, but edgier. It’s not straight down the center of the road that is pop, it’s left of pop. If you took pop and held a lighter to it… it’s a little burnt,” she said in an interview.
Based off of the short snippets she shared from her early recording sessions, it sounds like we may hear a fun dance number – but only time will tell if this bop makes the cut of her final tracklist.
