Yesterday, Drake was busy on his world tour performing in Dublin, Ireland, but that didn't mean he forgot what day it was – Rihanna's 29th birthday, of course! The rapper gave her the sweetest shoutout ever without even saying her name. He said he loved her which yes, he has said in the past, but not since there have been rampant rumors that he's currently dating Jennifer Lopez.
So, what is really going down between RiRi and Drizzy? Unfortunately, we don't have the exact answer to that. But, we do know that no matter what happens their love will never die.
Drake told the crowd in Dublin, "It’s somebody’s birthday today — somebody I have a lot of love for and a lot of respect for. So, instead of singing ‘Happy Birthday,’ though, we just going to do this in Dublin. Instead of singing ‘Happy Birthday,’ we’re going to set it off just like this…"
Just as he is ending his little birthday message, the duo's collaboration, "Work" starts playing on the speakers.
Aww! This is seriously everything and we can't imagine how special Rihanna felt after she saw this. The couple was rumored to be dating over the summer, especially after Drake pronounced his love for her publicly for the very first time at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. He presented her with the most prestigious award of the night and gave shippers something to talk about. After the show, these two were seen having a private dinner together and no one could help but wonder what was really going on.
The way they looked at each other was the only way that lovers look at each other. There had to be something more between them than just a friendly connection. While they never confirmed their relationship, just a few weeks after the VMAs, rumors started to spread that they had called it quits. Apparently, RiRi and Drake had been dating long before anyone expected and just as their love story got out, it was quickly over.
Drake and J.Lo have been caught getting cozy over the past couple of weeks but clearly, Rihanna will always have a special place in his heart!
