Ed Sheeran is the mastermind behind such classic One Direction songs as "Little Things" and "18," but the ginger-haired singer says he's no longer writing for the group! He told MTV that it's just because the guys are all grown up.
“They’ve gotten to a point where they know how to write songs," he said.
He pointed out that Harry Styles has grown up a lot and now writes for stars like Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor.
"Harry was 16 when I first met him…but now he’s 21 and has written with everyone in the world and learned how to write songs, so they don’t really need as much help anymore. They can kind of do their own thing.”
Good point! While we'll always hold the songs that Ed wrote close to our heart, we're happy that the 1D guys are doing their own thing.
Are you surprised Ed is no longer writing for 1D? Do you think they'll collab in the future? Let us know!
