Emma Stone is done starring in major movie franchises, at least for now. The Amazing Spider-Man actress recently revealed that she turned down a role for the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot because she's not ready to make such a big commitment again.
“The [Ghostbusters] script was really funny,” she told the Wall Street Journal. “It just didn’t feel like the right time for me. A franchise is a big commitment—it’s a whole thing. I think maybe I need a minute before I dive back into that water.”
Since big-name actors like Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and even Chris Hemsworth have already signed on for the movie, we're a little shocked that Emma didn't want to be a part of it. However, we totally understand needing to take some time for yourself. By the sounds of it, the Amazing Spider-Man was way more exhausting than she thought.
Hopefully she and her on-and-off boyfriend Andrew Garfield will finally get to spend time together. The two have both been incredibly busy working on separate projects, we're sure they'd love to have at least a few months to themselves.
