Ex-Union J singer George Shelley's little sister, Harriet Shelley, has passed away this weekend after a terrible accident last week. The 21-year-old was hit by a car on April 28, from which she suffered severe head injuries and passed away Friday night.

The Union J star's sister was in intensive care since then but her family confirmed she had lost her fight some days later at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, England. Her condition had stabilized after the accident but worsened after a few days.

George's representatives released a statement to The Sun that said: “George and the entire family are devastated and heartbroken at the loss of their beloved, beautiful Harriet. They are all together, supporting each other at this difficult time and would appreciate the time and space to do so before they make any further comments."

Her mom also told the newspaper that she did not blame anyone for the accident saying her daughter had been “in the wrong place at the wrong time” but she thanked everyone at the hospital for caring for her child. “Everybody at Southmead Hospital has been amazing, they have been working “24/7.”

George has been silent on social media since the accident but his old band members from Union J sent their love to him and his family, even though he left the group back in 2015.

“Devastated doesn’t even come close! The most beautiful spirit and truly wonderful person!" Jaymi Hensley wrote.

“No words can describe this awful moment, such a loving beautiful girl which was taken too soon, #RIP Harriet thinking of you George,” JJ Hamblett said to his friend.

Josh Cuthbert wrote: “Heartbroken about the news of Harriet Shelley. Such a lovely kind hearted girl. Will be missed so much. Thinking of you George, brother.”

At just 21 years of age, Harriet had a whole future ahead of her as she had just graduated with a midwifery degree. Harriet shared tons of photos on her Instagram account with messages about how much she loved her brother, George and the rest of her family. We send our love and prayers to the Shelley family during this terrible time.
