J-14 chatted with British hunk turned Hollywood It-boy Alex Pettyfer about his new movie I Am Number Four (in theaters today!), Taylor Lautner, and his secret romantic side.
J-14: I Am Number Four deals with a lot with bullying. Did you ever experience any bullying in school?
Alex Pettyfer: Yeah, I did. Kids who are bullies are insecure, and obviously you feel insecure when you're being bullied, so we're all in the same boat. The message [in the movie] is to stand up and not so much fight back, but fight the problem. If that means telling someone who's of an older generation, then you should.
J-14: A repeated theme in the movie is mentality that "we have no idea what we're capable of." Have you ever had to overcome a huge obstacle?
Alex: Jumping backwards off a cliff for I Am Number Four!
J-14: There's lots of media speculation about your personal life and relationship with Dianna Agron. How do you deal with that?
Alex: I ignore it. I don't [go online and read gossip sites]. If I read them, I'd probably go insane.
J-14: I Am Number Four was filmed in Pittsburgh last summer at the same time Taylor Lautner was there filming Abduction. Did you two ever run into each other?
Alex: I never saw him, but I heard the commotion. I heard the paparazzi were bugging the poor man. But, no, I never ran into him.
J-14: Tell us four things we didn't know about you.
Alex: I don't even know four! I like In-and-Out Burger. I love rock climbing. I miss home. I'm a romantic.
