It's no secret that Niall Horan is claustrophobic. The One Direction member has spoken out about his fear of crowds and small spaces multiple times, recently telling Now magazine, "I'm quite claustrophobic and I don't like everyone crowding around and shouting the same questions."
Niall's phobia really affects his his day-to-day life. He even suffers from major panic attacks on a regular basis. Fortunately, Niall has decided not to let his fear control him any longer, and has started reading self-help books that will teach him how to cope in a crowd or other tight spaces.
"Niall really wants to conquer this problem once and for all. He’s essentially practicing amateur psychology at the moment and is getting through three books a week," a source told Metro.
The source also revealed that Niall is reading up to three books per week while he's home recovering from his knee surgery.
"He has stacks of [books] by his bed and they’re really making a difference to his state of mind," they said.
