Find Out Who Your Favorite Stars Are Playing on ‘Scream Queens’

Even with multiple teasers and posters for Scream Queens being released, we haven't gotten a lot of other details about the upcoming show. But in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ryan Murphy revealed the details of the plot, as well as a breakdown of most of the main characters! The story is a murder mystery that follows a college campus after a bunch of murders start happening.

"It opens in a flashback to 1995 at the sorority where something horrible happens. It’s a mystery that goes unsolved. Flash forward 20 years to today, and it looks like someone is out for revenge. Something horrible happened to a pledge and on the anniversary of that crime, someone is out for vengeance," he spilled.

That definitely sounds epic! And considering how much Ariana Grande loves Halloween and scary movies, we're excited to see her in her element.

Emma Roberts is playing Chanel Oberlin.

She's the "very funny and very ruthless" president of Kappa Sorority.

"All her life all she’s wanted to do is be president of Kappa and have this great boyfriend and rule the roost. She’s very fashionable and very ruthless," Ryan revealed.

"I love Emma. It was written for her. She’s super funny."

Keke palmer scream queens

Keke Palmer is playing Zayday.

She's plays a high-achieving sorority member who's only in the group so she can run for president and put the gig on her resume.

"She’s a genius IQ and she’s at the sorority. She doesn’t like sororities but she’s talked into joining the sorority so that she can run for president and bolster her resume because she has great aspirations after she graduates from college. She’s a great, cool character who goes into that world to change the system," he says.

Abigail breslin scream queens

Abigail Breslin is playing Sarah Tourse.

She's another one of Chanel's friends.

"Abigail is Emma Roberts’s right-hand man," he said. "They can’t believe what is happening with their sorority and can’t believe the dean is cracking down on them because they’ve lived a reign of terror. Now finally they’re seniors and it’s their time to live it up and they’re told they’re not going to able to and they’re not happy about it at all."

Ariana Grande is playing Katherine.

She is one of Emma's henchwomen.

Nick jonas scream queens

Nick Jonas is playing Brad Towery.

In the show, he's a part of a golfing frat called the Dollar Scholars.

"They are preppy monsters and they are white entitled kids who are on golfing scholarships and are the most popular guys on the campus," Ryan said.

"Nick is very funny because he’s completely playing against type. The thing I will say about the Nick character is he’s not who he seems to be. Nick has a dark side, which comes out in the episodes."

Lea michele scream queens

Lea Michele is playing Hester.

Lea's playing another sorority girl who's being stalked by the killer on the loose. And it involves a very dramatic makeover!

"She plays a girl with scoliosis and a neckbrace, whose nickname is Neckbrace — Emma’s character just calls her 'Neckbrace'. This girl wants everything Chanel has and will do anything to get it. We won’t let her put on any makeup and she wears these horrible 1995 tracksuits. But there’s a great turn that happens half-way through the season with that character," Ryan reveals.

Glen Powell is playing Chad.

He's Emma's boyfriend on the show, and in the same frat as Nick's character.
