When Frankie Grande‘s superstar little sis, Ariana Grande, starred in her own Nickelodeon shows, Victorious and Sam & Cat, he never thought he’d be the one behind the cameras one day. Luckily, Grande has been on Broadway stages and reality TV, making his upcoming role on Henry Danger a fun new adventure.

How did he end up on set at Nickelodeon? J-14‘s Liam McEwan caught up with Frankie on the set at Nickelodeon to get all the details on Frankie’s cameo. But in classic Grande style, the actor hijacks the camera and turns it into a cool mirror selfie-style video. With an Instagram profile as good as his, it’s an honor.

Frankie spills a few details about his new gig, including his character’s name (Frankini) and what it’s like being on a TV set that feels just like “family.” Plus, there are two unlikely visitors: Frankie’s grandmother, the iconic Nonna, and Gollum from Lord of the Rings. Check out the video in all it’s hilarity below.

Henry Danger is a little bit different from Frankie Grande’s usual jobs hosting a red carpet or performing on stage. Acting on Broadway means performing for a giant room so that everyone can see every little emotion. TV sets are the complete opposite, which means Frankie ran into a little trouble.

“[A] four-camera sitcom is what Henry Danger is, so it’s more presentational in that way,” Frankie explains. “And, of course, it’s Nickelodeon. It’s fun. It’s a little bit animated, but there were times when I had to pull it back and realize the camera is right there.”

But no worries. Frankie also added: “A lot of it is over-the-top anyway because it’s such a great character. He’s so over-the-top! It’s awesome.”

From what Frankie Grande’s told us about Frankini, we can’t wait to see him in action on Henry Danger. The two-part episode premieres on September 16, 2017 at 8/7c on Nick (and then finishes up on September 23). You won’t want to miss this.
