G.R.L. just broke up! The girl group, which formed in 2013, has officially disbanded. They went through a difficult time last fall when their fifth band member, Simone Battle, passed away — and it seems like they finally made the tough decision to split up.
"Nearly 9 months following the tragic death of band member Simone Battle, girl group G.R.L. announces today that they are disbanding," their record label said in a statement. "We wish them continued success in each of their next creative endeavors."
Natasha Slayton hinted that she didn't want to break up, so maybe the decision wasn't voluntary!
Words can't describe how much I appreciate all of these posts from all of you.🙏❤️Me = emotional❤️..If it were up to me, we would keep going.— Natasha Slayton (@GRLNatasha) June 3, 2015

Despite their tumultuous past, this is totally surprising. They released a song only a few months ago. Even though they never dropped an album, it seemed like they were well on their way to creating a full-length record.
We hope that they're dealing with their split okay! We can't imagine what it must be like to break up after two years together.
