We know it is not just us who thinks Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas are destined to be together. We know what you’re thinking – she already dated Nick’s brother Joe. But listen, that was a long time ago. They were all different humans back then, and things change. Besides, Joe’s dating Games of Thrones actress Sophie Turner now. Nick, on the other hand, appears to be totally available. Ya hear that, Demi?

Recently, the idea of Nick and Demi has become as apparent as ever. Why? Well, we’re almost 100% certain her song “Ruin the Friendship” is about him. Like, it’s so obvious. Not to mention, they’re just always saying the most precious things about each other. Basically, we’re convinced they’re in love, and no one could tell us otherwise. Now, here’s why.

Nick and Demi go way back, starting with Camp Rock.

Nick and Demi have known each other for legit years, and the fact that they’re still close proves that their relationship runs deep. Their friendship began way back in 2007 when they filmed Camp Rock together, and they have only gotten closer since.

They hang out like ALL the time.

Nick and Demi sitting next to each other at the 2017 AMAs is a prime example of how attached at the hip they are. They’re always by each others side at star-studded events, but you’ll also catch them just hanging out on the reg.

They each have a song called “Games.”

Yep, that’s right. Not only have they written tons of songs together – but they have a song of the same title. The Jonas Brothers released a song called “Games” on their self-titled album, and Demi has a song of the same name on her latest album Tell Me You Love Me. Coincidence? Perhaps, but we’d like to think there’s some connection there.

They share the same sense of humor.

Demi and Nick are always sharing a laugh, and they aren’t afraid to be silly around each other. What more can you ask for? “I want the world to be able to laugh the same way I do when I’m around him,” Demi told Glamour. WE’RE SWOONING.

They keep each other in check — and Nick is totally understanding of what Demi has overcome.

Demi has been sober for years, and Nick makes sure to fully support her. That means he’s always alert and responsible around Demi because that is just the kind of friend he is – a thoughtful and caring one.

“I’m never, ever drunk around Demi,” Nick told Billboard.

The “shelf” reference heard around the world.

The Jonas Brothers have a song on their A Little Bit Longer album called “Shelf” – and it appears as though Demi used that reference in her song “Only Forever” off of her latest album Tell Me You Love Me. “What if I meet somebody else who doesn’t leave me on a shelf?” Demi’s lyric says. Besides, Demi confirmed that “Ruin the Friendship” and “Only Forever” are about the same person – and that person is obviously Nick.

They’ve basically already lived together.

Between being on the sets of the Camp Rock movies and going on tour together, Nick and Demi know what it’s like to spend a really, really long time together. We feel as though they know everything about each other by now, and there would be no surprised if they started dating and eventually living together. OK, we’re getting ahead of ourselves here – but we can dream.

They don’t keep secrets.

Nick and Demi tell each other everything – in fact, Demi is the third person Nick calls whenever he has news.

“I internalize things, so we have this rule that we never want to hear about it in a tweet or something. She’d read me the riot act, so she’s the third person I call — my dad, Joe, then Demi,” Nick said. Demi was one of the first people Nick told when he and Olivia Culpo broke up.

Demi continued, “I go, ‘Honestly, I didn’t like her anyway.’ It’s not because she’s mean or anything, but he has such a great sense of humor and I want him to be with someone that makes him laugh. I can tell if something’s up because he’ll close off.”

Their voices sound downright beautiful together.

Nick and Demi’s hit collab “Avalanche” will always be a favorite, but they’ve been singing together for years. On Demi’s debut album Don’t Forget, which the Jonas Brothers produced and co-wrote, Nick and Demi’s voices blend beautifully on the song “On the Line.” Joe’s in the song too, of course, but we’re focusing on “Nemi” at the moment – which brings us to our next point…

They would have the best ship name (even better than Demi’s ship name with Joe).

Nick + Demi = Nemi. It just rolls off the tongue – don’t you think?
