If there's one thing Harry Potter is good at (besides magic, of course!), it's definitely breaking records... even against himself!
The latest installment of the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, which opened on Friday, earned $125.1 million at the box office, making it the best opening for a Harry Potter film yet. The previous record was set by Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (also known as the HP that first introduced us to a young Rob Pattinson as Cedric Diggory!) with $102.7 million back in 2005.

This weekend's numbers also makes Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 the sixth highest opening weekend of all time -- ahead of it are The Dark Knight, Spider-Man 3, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, and Iron Man 2.
Congrats to the whole Harry Potter cast on an amazing weekend!
