Fans and stars of hit show, The Vampire Diaries are getting ready to say their final tearful goodbye to the series.
After spending more than eight years together working on a show, it’s pretty obvious that everyone involved in making the series what it is will have a hard time leaving it all behind. Ian Somerhalder expressed not just that, but how excited he also is for the next chapter of his life.
In a new interview, the actor dished on just how hard it is going to be to shoot the series final scene, by saying “it will be quite an incredible feat to shoot that last scene and know that we’re completing almost eight years of work on a television show.”
“It’s been nearly a decade. It’s time to turn over new leaves and really put our energies into other stuff,” he also said.
So what other things is he looking forward to? Well that would be all the free time that would allow him to tackle on new projects, and possibly even start a family with his wife Nikki Reed sometime down the road.
Ian expressed his excitement by admitting, “once I’m not on set for 15 hours a day, five days a week, that frees up a lot of time. I’m excited about it!”
Despite how heartbreaking it is to know that the show is coming to an end, we are excited to see what everyone is going to do next.
