I'm all about spoonswaggin. Or at least I have been for the last 24 hours... which is exactly how long ago the whole thing was started by a 16-year-old guy who you just might happen to know: Justin Bieber. ;)
Yesterday afternoon around 5 p.m., Justin Bieber first Tweeted: "Me and @liltwist Be #spoonswaggin yawww."
The rest of us were left to wonder what exactly "spoonswaggin" was. But JB quickly followed up with a photo showing him with a clear plastic spoon sticking out of his hat. And the world learned: Spoonswaggin = Taking a photo with a spoon.
From there, it just kept going. He posted six photos of him with pals with spoons -- and then the seventh, which was mysteriously blurred a bit, showed a girl with the plastic spoon right over her face.
With some fancy Photoshopping, J-14 was able to come up with this clearer version that shows it's the one and only Selena Gomez, spoonswaggin right along with Justin!
By that time, the hash tag "#spoonswaggin" had become such a thing that it went straight to the top of the trending topics on Twitter. Whoa! Talk about having influence. Bieber sure knows how to kick off a trend.
And it didn't end there. After two more spoonswaggin photos, Justin's "swagger coach" Ryan Good turned it up a notch to forkswaggin.
So J-14 wasn't about to fall behind -- we decided to get our utensilswaggin on -- first by spoonswaggin with the actual Santa hat that Justin wore on the December 2009 cover of J-14 Magazine. It quickly got over 900 views -- and then we Tweeted the new issue spoonswaggin, which has hit over 750 views. And now we're one-upping everyone by having ONE shot where we're spoonswaggin, forkswaggin, and knifeswaggin! Woohoo!
How crazy that a silly little concept kicked off less than 24 hours ago can already become such a thing. That only goes to show the Power of Bieber. We salute you, Justin. Actually no, we spoonswag you, Justin!
Have you spoonswagged yet? If not, include J-14 in your spoonswaggin and Tweet it to us at @j14magazine.
