He's toured with the Jonas Brothers, starred in the romantic classic The Princess Diaries (yup, he was Michael Moscovitz!), and been on the road non-stop with his longtime band he formed in high school, Rooney. And now Rooney lead singer Robert Schwartzman (also known as Bobby) is taking on a brand new role as J-14's first-ever Sweet Tooth Blogger.
While Rooney's traveling the country on their North American headlining tour in support of their new album Eureka, Robert is scouting out the best spots for desserts (yes, it was his idea -- how sweet.... literally!)... and rating them with his exclusive BST (Bobby Sweet Tooth) rating.
In his second entry, he hits up his fave spot in Madison, Wisconsin... check it out!

Sweet Type: Chocolate Chip Cookie
Description: Standard Chocolate Chip Cookie, however, the chips were very large and dominated the blend. They were about the size of a quarter and the cookie was about 4.5" in diameter. Halfway through the cookie, you could see the wall of chips stacked tight, similar layering look to rock formations of long periods of time. It had a very neutral after taste, the right amount of kick, not too much bang or sour decay. Given its thickness, it wasn't as cake-like as I suspected. I like that it had some girth, but it didn't fall apart halfway into it. It got a little chocolate heavy towards the center, and they were out of milk, so I had no backup liquids. For a cookie this chocolaty, it would have been nice to have a glass of milk to wash it down (I like soy milk). It wasn't too unusual like the last vegan cookie I had. This one was pretty standard, however, it wasn't boring and it never lost me.
Texture: Light sandpaper exterior, golden brown, with large chocolate chips. Not doughy at all, very consistent and a perfect crispy edge. Having a dipping solution would've given me a better feel for it's strength, but I'm guessing it would have held up nicely.
B.S.T. Rating (Bobby Sweet Tooth) Rating: 7.7
Comments: I was not let down by this cookie. As I said before, it had me from the first bite. I prefer to have more space between chips, but there was no getting around these extra large chips. The selection was minimal, so I went for the chocolate chip. I'm hoping to find something more unusual in the next few days.
