In honor of Justin Bieber's 17th birthday, the J-14 editors are writing blogs about their favorite Justin Bieber memory. Here is associate editor Kim Messina's blog:
Very few people get to say that they've hung out with Justin Bieber. Very few people get to say that they've been part of a practical joke with Justin Bieber. I can say I've done both.
My first Justin experience was in December 2009 when I got to hang out with him on the set of the MTV prank show, Silent Library. Poor Justin just broke hit foot and was wearing a hard boot -- but that didn't stop him one bit from having a blast. (I should have known back then that his future motto would be, "Never Say Never!")
I got to sit on the sidelines and watch Justin and his buddies play practical jokes on each other. I'll never forget the look on Justin's face as he chugged a glass full of blended Chinese food. Totally gross!
Afterwards I got to chat with Justin and besides wanting to touch his hair (I kid, I kid...), I remember thinking how sweet and normal he was. He reminded me of the boys I used to sit next to in class -- except for the fact that just a few days later, he was performing to a sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden for his first Z100 Jingle Ball. (I'm pretty sure none of the boys in my class did that!) Normal kid by day, popstar by night.
Happy Birthday Justin! From the moment we met, you made a Belieber out of me!
