J-14 was lucky enough to hang out with the cast of Let It Shine last night at the Empire Hotel Rooftop in New York City! Between amazing food -- like cheeseburger sliders and macaroni and cheese appetizers -- we had the chance to talk to all of the stars of the new Disney Channel Original Movie and even saw a special two song performance from Tyler James Williams and Coco Jones!
Coco showed off her amazing voice and Tyler rocked the house with his rap skills as they performed "Me and You" and "Guardian Angel." We also caught up with Brandon Mychal Smith, who plays Lord of Da Bling, a not-so-nice character who pushes Tyler's character Cyrus to fight for what he wants. (But don't worry, Brandon is actually nothing like Lord of Da Bling -- he's super-sweet and hilarious in real life!) Then, we posed for photos with Coco and Tyler -- and they were so excited to see the back of the latest issue of J-14, which features a full-page Let It Shine poster!
It was so great to catch up with Coco, Tyler, and Brandon -- and after getting a sneak peek of what we can expect to hear and see in the movie, we can't wait to see Let It Shine when it airs this Friday at 8 p.m. EST on Disney Channel!
