Cody Simpson is giving fans a little taste of 'Paradise' on his new EP 'Preview to Paradise,' in stores now! The EP is available on iTunes and features sizzling tracks that will be stuck in your head all summer long. The Aussie star gave us a a sneak peek of the full album, out later this year, and even dished about what kind of girl will catch his eye this summer!
J-14: What's the vibe of the album 'Paradise'? Cody Simpson: The EP gives a nice representation of what the album is going to sound like. There are a couple different styles on there. It's a little more urban than a lot of the stuff I've done. I collaborate with T-Pain, and then there's a really cool dance track called "Wish You Were Here."
J-14: Which song are you particularly excited about? Cody: This song called "Gentleman" that I wrote on my guitar. It's very John Mayer/Jack Johnson and very romantic. I'm big on being a gentleman and being respectful toward girls, and I wanted to work on something that displayed that.
J-14: What was the inspiration behind the song "So Listen?" Cody: That song was kind of shout-out to everyone who can't put their feelings into words when it comes to someone they like. Sometimes you just wish you could be like, 'Listen to my heartbeat. Listen to how I'm feeling.'
J-14: Which song from the album is the soundtrack to your life right now? Cody: "Wish You Were Here." It's something I relate to a lot. Traveling all the time, it's hard to have a serious relationship with a girl. It's about how music is better and life is brighter when you're here. It's based on a lot of experiences I've been through.
J-14: What's the hottest thing a girl can wear during the summer? Cody: A collared shirt, any color. They're classy! I like girls that don't try too hard. I like natural girls.
