You might recognize Claudia Lee from the Disney Channel's Zeke and Luther, but did you know that this up-and-coming singer is releasing her debut album, Here Right Now, on February 28 and is currently starring in a recurring role on Hart of Dixie with Rachel Bilson? Yup, this girl does it all! J-14 recently caught up with Claudia to chat about how she got discovered, what it's like working on Hart of Dixie, and the fashion obsession that Claudia and her costars bonded over.
J-14: How did you get started in the business?
Claudia Lee: Ever since I've been little I've been performing, and I've been dancing since I was two and a half. When I was five I finally asked my parents, "Why am I not on TV? Why am I not on radio?" They put me in musical theater, dance classes, and vocal lessons right away!
J-14: Your big break came on Zeke and Luther. What was it like working on that show?
Claudia: It was my first TV show, so I had a lot to learn and the guys were awesome about helping me out. It was so much fun -- it's a show that you could just be goofy on. I got to do some crazy stuff, like they buried me in the sand and had live crabs around us in one episode, which was totally scary because one of the crabs pinched
J-14: And now you have a recurring role on Hart of Dixie with Rachel Bilson. What's that been like?
Claudia: Yeah, I am a huge fan of hers! It's a dream cast -- we love going to set and we love our show and we hope the fans can see that!
J-14: What's something you were surprised to learn about Rachel after working with her?
Claudia: Well, she's just so down to earth!. She has so much experience and is
so well known, and she is so loved in the industry -- but she doesn't have an ego. She is so carefree, calm and easy going.
J-14: And she has such a great style! Have you picked up any pointers from her?
Claudia: Her style is just really cool. I can't get over it! She goes to
set and it's like six in the morning and she's just styling it up. She's totally effortless and the project that she's working on with Steve Madden -- I can't wait to see their shoes! I'm a shoe freak, and she's a shoe freak too!
