We recently caught up with Pretty Little Liar's star Tyler Blackburn, who plays Caleb on the show. As season three comes to a close, Tyler dishes on Caleb and Hanna's relationship, new music he's working on, and playing a girl!?
J-14: How are you similar to your character, Caleb, on Pretty Little Liars? Tyler: I feel like I do have his wicked mind. He's witty, he's protective, he's in love and will do anything for his girl. I think I have a little bit of each of those attributes.
J-14: What do you think of Hannh and Caleb's relationship?
Tyler: In some ways I think it's really mature and in other ways it has its ups and downs like a teenage relationship does. For viewers I think it's relatable and it's ideal as well. I think they understand it and they look up to the relationship. They do care about each other a lot and I feel like it's unconditional love. I think everyone wants that. J-14: If you didn't play Caleb, which character would you like to be? Tyler: I think that Mona has had some really cool stuff in the mental hospital and all. I think that would be pretty fun to play. I would have to do some really good acting to play a girl though. But it's been done! J-14: Who are you closest with in the cast? Tyler: Recently I've bonded with Julian who plays Wren on the show. I would say I'm the closest with him. We have a lot of the same ideals and outlooks on life. Truthfully we've only had one scene together since we've been on the show, but we've seen each other at table reads and stuff like that. He's just a really cool guy. J-14: Tell us about your music. Is there a new album or single coming out? Tyler: My music has been a really cool experience. I've loved music from the womb. I always knew I would love to work with music and ABC Family has given me the opportunity to record for them. I'm not recording a full album but it's a way for me to get into the studio, work that muscle and get that experience. It's cool because they could use my songs for their shows or in their promos. I'm releasing another song I just did with a really good vocalist named Annabelle England, and I'm working on another one after that.
