Today, J-14 hung out with Zac Efron at the New York Public Library for a "Read Across America" event. Along with his fellow Lorax costar Danny DeVito, Zac read Dr. Seuss' The Lorax to hundreds of school children, who were dressed up for the event in orange t-shirts and yellow mustaches. J-14 had a chance to chat with Zac before he went on stage where he told us how excited he was to read to the kids. "The Lorax was read to me as a young boy," he said. "You can never do enough for our planet. Sometimes you feel like one small thing isn't enough but the story reminds us that we need to band together."
Aside from reading the book, fans also got a sneak peek of the film, and the stars spilled behind-the-scenes secrets on how the animators got Ted to look so similar to Zac. "When you'd go into the booth to record your voice, a video camera would also record your movements," explained Danny DeVito, who plays the Lorax. "And then they'd use those to draw with the computer and try to capture the movement of the actors in the movie -- so it looks real!" Before they left, Zac and Danny even joined the PS 22 Chorus in singing a song from the movie's soundtrack, "Let It Grow" -- and we couldn't resist grabbing a video!
