J-14 is scouting out the hottest bands around... and this week's pick is This Love.

Here are five things you need to know about This Love, who's currently in the studio recording and writing their new album, set for release later this year!

  1. From Dayton, OH, rock band This Love consists of vocalist and guitarist Joe McFaddin, guitarist Jake Bonham, bassist Jake Sims, and drummer Katie Cole.

  2. The band's name "This Love" is derived from itself. "What is the biggest thing in the world? Love. And we've come to spread it worldwide through our tunes," Joe McFaddin tells J-14. "We want to be more than a band. We want to be a revolution of sorts. We want to continue to spread love and good vibes throughout our lifespan, even past music itself."

  3. Their debut concept album At War, which dropped in late 2011, is all about the change someone can make in the world. "At War is a story of self-realization, a tale that takes you through an everyday scenario of someone who simply wants to make a difference," Joe says. "It's about a journey to become the person you dream to be, doing the great things using gifts that you are given to better this world."

  4. Some of the group's musical inspirations include John Mayer, Kings of Leon, Coldplay, and The Killers. "If The Killers they came knocking would be a great band to tour with," Joe says.

  5. Their latest single is "Free" the one song that shaped the entire concept of their album At War. The video is one of three videos, which tells a storyline within the album.
