J-14 is scouting out the hottest bands around... and this week's pick is We The Kings!

Here are five things you need to know about We The Kings whose new album Sunshine State of Mind is out tomorrow! Can't wait? You can get a copy early on iTunes today!

  1. It all started in Bradenton, Fla. at King's Middle School (which they named their band name after!) when four kids, lead vocalist and guitarist Travis Clark, guitarist and backing vocalist Hunter Thomsen, bassist Drew Thomsen, and drummer Danny Duncan, came together and made music for the first time.

  2. Though this pop rock quartet resides in close quarters as they tour across the country, the guys have an unbreakable bond that makes it easy. "It's always been based on friendship," Travis said, "which is why I think we get along so well together and why we're able to tour eleven months out of the year without wanting to kill each other."

  3. One of their favorite duets is "We'll Be a Dream" featuring Demi Lovato, one of Travis' good friends. "We've been friends for a while and I heard her sing the 'National Anthem' for one of the Dallas Cowboys games and I was like 'oh my God, she's not just a Disney star, she can really belt. She's got pipes," Travis told J-14. "It's like a super epic song and it came out exactly how I really wanted it to sound."

  4. Some of this band's biggest supporters consist of our favorite stars including Selena, Miley, and Taylor Swift! "Taylor Swift we met at this MTV filming thing and she was a sweetheart," Travis said. "She was telling us how 'Check Yes Juliet' was her favorite song of 2008. It was awesome. We saw her and were like 'oh man. That's Taylor Swift. That's very cool.'"

  5. We The Kings are currently headlining the Friday Is Forever Tour that you can catch this summer alongside Hot Chelle Rae, The Summer Set, The Downtown Fiction, and Action Item!
