J-14 is scouting out the hottest music around... and this week's pick is The JaneDear Girls.
Here are five things you need to know about The JaneDear Girls, aka Susie Brown and Danelle Leverett, whose self-titled debut album drops in January 2011.
Singer/fiddler/mandolinist Susie is from Alpine, Utah, and singer/guitarist Danelle Leverett hails from Amarillo, Texas. They met five years ago and went through a lot of names before they came up with "The JaneDear Girls." "We really wanted something that was feminine, all-American, and memorable to our country music fans," Danelle tells J-14. "We knew it was a keeper because when we would tell people our new name, they laughed or smiled and definitely did not forget it!"
Their hit single "Wildflower" is a reflection of Susie's childhood. "I loved climbing trees, dancing through the sprinklers, and singing my favorite songs using a hairbrush as my microphone," she says. "''Wildflower' is really a song about me and how I love to let loose, have fun, and just be who I am!"
Danelle tells us that The JaneDear Girls' debut album is full of high energy, up-tempo songs that make people want to smile and dance. "All of the songs are written from our hearts and inspired by true life experiences that we hope people can relate to," she says.
Susie says the coolest celeb she's met was Taylor Swift. "She doesn't act like everyone should know her," Susie tells us. "I've meet her a few times since then, and she has always been so sweet and said how much she loved my style." Turns our Danelle loves Taylor too -- Speak Now is currently one of her fave albums.
Danelle's celeb crush is Zac Efron, while Susie loves Ryan Reynolds.
The JaneDear Girls will be on tour with Jason Aldean from January 21-30, but you can check them out right now in their "Wildflower" music video:
