Lonely Boy is back! Gossip Girl devotees will be pleased to hear that Dan Humphrey (otherwise known as Penn Badgley) is making a welcome return to the small screen. Badgley has been signed up to play the lead part in new ten-part Lifetime drama, You, and the story sounds awfully like our much-loved Gossip Girl.

Based on Caroline Kepnes bestselling 2014 novel of the same name, You is described as a "21st-century love story about an obsessive, yet brilliant bookstore manager (Badgley) who uses the hyperconnectivity of today’s technology to make the woman of his dreams, an aspiring writer, fall in love with him."

Sounds rather familiar to us. Touted as a much darker Gossip Girl for the social media age, we imagine You will be just as addictive as the original show. Executive-produced by Greg Berlanti (of Dawson's Creek fame), Badgley's love interest is yet to be cast.

This will be Badgley's first major role since Gossip Girl wrapped in 2012. The 30-year-old has had other parts in TV show, The Slap, and 2016 film, The Paper Store. The straight-to-series show is expected to debut in early 2018. Bring it on!
