Today's a big day for American Idol season nine winner Lee DeWyze -- his debut album, Live It Up, is officially in stores.

Lee told J-14 that he named the album Live It Up because it's a motto he lives by. "Just live it up and have a good time," he tells us.
And that motto also kept him motivated while writing the album. "I don't wanna be stuck to one thing," Lee says. "I don't want to be the rock guy or the acoustic guy -- I want to be able to do everything. So this album has a lot of different things on it -- fun songs, sad songs, harder songs, and more upbeat songs. What motivated me the most was just the thought of putting the album out."
Lee will catch up with a former Idol judge tomorrow when he goes on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. So what does he think that Idol will be like now that Ellen, Kara DioGuardi, and Simon Cowell are all off the show?
"It's going to be different for sure," Lee tells us. "You've got to just take the show for what it is and enjoy it, and most of the people will. I hope that [the new judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler] don't try to mimic or copy past judges. They don't need to go up there and be the negative one -- just be themselves and it will be a cool show."
J-14 was with Lee when he performed an exclusive show at the PC Richard & Son Theater in New York City. Check out this video of Lee singing "Weightless," off his debut album, live last week:
