Literally, no one is safe from Jake Paul. The Team 10 patriarch is trying to set the record straight and clear his name once and for all, but our eyes have just rolled so far back we may have just lost them somewhere inside our head. He can't be serious, but he is. As the YouTube personality is trying to make people see that he really is a good guy despite all of the bad press he's getting lately, he decided it would be a good idea to drag Selena Gomez into it all. Bad idea, Jake, bad idea. He posted a new video, a music video of sorts, where fans can hear him tell his side of the story.

The lyrics are plastered at the bottom of the video, so there's no mistake when we say he called out our girl Selena. We know what you're thinking, though. How can Jake POSSIBLY connect himself with the "Fetish" singer? Well, he found a way and that way was through Disney Channel. In case you're not up to speed on your Jake Paul news, he recently parted ways with Disney and left his show Bizaardvark in the middle of the season.

Now, get this. Jake is saying that he and Disney had a mutual agreement and this was something that harbored no ill will. But, we find that a bit difficult to believe. Who leaves a show mid-season if there's no drama involved? Not only that, but it came on the heels of Jake's shenanigans with his Team 10 crew getting a bit out of control. Regardless, Jake and Disney are done. This is where he brings Selena in. In his new song that he claims is definitely not a diss track of any sorts, Jake says that he got hate and people trash talking him because he left Disney. But, when Selena left, she got nothing.

The lyrics read, "Where was y'all at when Selena left Disney / Didn't talk sh-t to her but now you talk sh-t to me / Where was y'all at when the neighbors didn't hate me / They all wanted pictures but now they tryna play me."

Hmmm, okay so let's break this down a little bit. Again, no one knows the full story behind why Jake abruptly left Disney, but his exit was quite different than Selena's. The singer has her own show – Wizards of Waverly Place – on the network for four years and after the series ran its course, naturally Selena moved on to different projects. She had a good relationship with the network and still does to this day. She wasn't going around starting trouble. Her only drama was with on-and-off again boyfriend Justin Bieber and that was far from the headlines Jake has been making. Jake has been accused of emotional abuse by his ex-girlfriend Alissa Violet, he was caught on camera pushing fellow Team 10 member Tessa Brooks, and he's had a couple run-ins with the police regarding his behavior in his neighborhood. Selena and Jake's exit from the Disney Channel could not have been more different.

Back in 2015, Selena chatted with Refinery29 about her departure. She explained, "Everyone has found their identity in a really interesting way. We didn't come out as these robots that looked and dressed the same. We had to go through our own sh-t. At the end of the day, it's respecting every female artist's choice in how she expresses herself, because that's what she wants." It was after she left Wizards and the Disney family that Selena's career as a music artist really skyrocketed.

We do see what Jake is trying to say, but he may have missed the mark. We understand that he's trying to let people know that he's not actually a bad guy, he's just making some mistakes because he is only human. While that's true and totally a valid point, he should also be thinking about everything he says because sometimes words and actions can be offensive. One thing is certain, comparing himself to Selena is not a good look.
