Jordan Fisher and his girlfriend Ellie Woods are as adorably in love as they come, but they are definitely a couple that flies under the radar. The Liv and Maddie and Teen Beach Movie cutie has been dating the University of Alabama student for quite some time, so we're breaking it down for you. But first, can we all just take a moment to appreciate Ellie's reaction to her bae winning the first place Dancing With the Stars Mirrorball trophy?
OUR HEARTS. Now, let us go back to the beginning.
The couple made their Instagram debut in January of 2017.
At the start of the new year, both Jordan and Ellie shared a photo on their Instagram accounts of the two of them hanging out in Times Square. During this time, Jordan was living in New York City while starring in the Broadway musical Hamilton, and it was at this time when their friendship started to form into something more.
Jordan and Ellie have known each other for years.
Jordan and Ellie have known each other for a long time, but they just started dating a little over a year ago. While hanging with the star at the Super Mario Odyssey for Nintendo Switch launch event in New York City, Jordan told us their whole storybook experience of falling in love.
He spilled to J-14, "We grew up in a theatre company together in Birmingham. We were just friends. It took us a long time for all of a sudden, like a year and a half ago we were kind of like 'Let's see what this could be.' I was working on Hamilton at the time. I was like 'Come to New York. I'll take you on some dates and let's just figure it out.' So, she came to New York, I took her on some dates, and that was it!"
Ellie took to Instagram to show off a photo of the pair from way back in 2012 with the caption, "Wow. Oof. We have come a long way, my dear. #throwback #2012." Hey, 5 years can change a person! But seriously, can Jordan bring back the hair? What a fab look for him.
Jordan's sweet Instagram comment on one of Ellie's photos of the couple also reveals that they have been in each other's lives for years.
"Good Lord. If only knew how to properly articulate how happy you make me...this would be so much easier. You truly make me the happiest person on earth. So grateful to have you and to have had you in my life for all these years. Even more grateful that I get to call you my person."
It was just in 2016 when Jordan suggested that he was single in an interview.
"I'm traveling a lot and thank god, it's awesome doing what I love. So I'm kind of going around a lot, and I don't spend a lot of time in one place, so it's hard to date and it's hard to get out and all that stuff. But, you know," he said, before getting asked if he was single. "Well, kind of...there's someone that I'm talking to."
Could that someone have been Ellie? It's likely – because they started dating very soon after.
She hardcore supported him during Dancing With the Stars.
Jordan is busy singing, dancing and acting, while Ellie is working towards a degree – but that didn't stop Ellie from supporting her bae on DWTS. She was always rooting for him both from the audience and from afar. She even made posters and shirts to help cheer on her bae.
Jordan exclusively told us, "We see each other every three weeks. We've made the commitment to just doing that because she's my person. That's kind of just the bottom line. We grew up together. We have 11 years of friendship and that turned into something really beautiful and special. Just committing to the idea of making it work and being together is something you just do. You just make it work and make it happen. Every three weeks, somebody is on a plane to see each other if it's a day or two, if it's a week, if it's a long weekend. We make it work. I'm kind of stuck in LA right now and she's in Alabama studying clinical dietetics so her face is in the books all the time. Super, super busy, but she makes it work. Since I'm stuck in LA, she's been coming back and forth and seeing the show."
Ellie stays out of the spotlight.
Although neither of the two are shy about posting with each other on social media, you won't catch Ellie walking the red carpet with Jordan. Whether she prefers to keep her relationship private or she's just simply busy with her own life, we totally respect her for it. Although, nothing's going to stop him from gushing about her on TV.
"The love of my life – her name's Ellie Woods. We actually grew up together, funny enough. We've been best friends for 11 years. Last year, I was actually working on Hamilton at the time, and we talked about our feelings – and it was sweet and wonderful," he said in an interview on The Real.
It's official – they're the cutest.
