It's basically a national sport trying to identify which songs Justin Bieber wrote about Selena Gomez (and vice versa), but the pop star has officially confirmed that three songs from Purpose were inspired by their relationship. When asked about how much of his new album was brewed up in response to Jelena, he admitted that a quarter of the tracks were about his ex.

"A lot of it, dude. A lot of it. Probably like three [songs]," he revealed on Access Hollywood.

Since the Calvin Klein model also called her his "first real love," this totally makes sense. But we're kind of surprised that he only wrote three songs about her, especially from an album that has 13 tracks total.

However, Justin wrote some other songs (not on the album) that were basically inspired by Selena.

"Yeah, I wrote a song [that] didn't make the album, it was called 'If I Would Have Met You In 5 Years'. How true is that? How many people go through life and end up meeting someone and it feels so right, but it's just the wrong time? So many people can relate to that."

Well, there's always the future!
