We were blown away when we first heard Kaya Stewart's "In Love With a Boy," so we had to ask her about her unique style when she stopped by our office. The singer dropped her EP of the same name earlier this month, and she says it's a culmination of the musical influences she grew up with and the stuff she loves now.
"I think the whole album, I wrote from the ages of 12 to 14, and I think it's all about that time period, which is about being in-between a teenager and an adult and a kid," she EXCLUSIVELY told us.
"Growing up, I always listened to soul music and rock music. I had a very eclectic music taste. But as soon as I got older, I started getting into a lot of current music, like electronic and synth and bass and I think as soon as I started to make my own sound, I wanted to incorporate a little bit of the old and a little bit of the new."
