Kenton Duty, Kat McNamara and Daniel Flaherty celebrate during the screening of their new movie, Contest.
Last night, we hung out with Shake it Up's Kenton Duty, Kickin It's Kat McNamara and Daniel Flaherty at the screening of their new movie, Contest, at the Tribeca Film Center in New York City. The movie, which addresses the issue of bullying, featured many young teen stars -- even Jan Uczkowski, famous for his YouTube impersonations of Justin Bieber.
Kenton, who plays the bully in the movie, as well as Kat, who is stuck in the middle of it all, are both passionate about anti-bullying in real life -- especially since they've both experienced being bullied in the past. They saw this film as a great way to address the issues that are so common in the lives of teens today.
Kenton told us exclusively at the premiere, "Part of the reason I really liked doing this movie is because it's going to draw attention to [bullying] and the bullies are going to be like, 'Oh wait, I shouldn't be doing that.' It's really their decision to stop. That kind of popularity isn't worth it."
