As any Directioner knows, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik all went onto the X-Factor as solo artists. It was Simon Cowell who grouped them together and One Direction was born. Obviously, the rest is history.

Now that the band has gone on hiatus, all of the boys are finally able to do the solo thing they always wanted. Or we thought they always wanted. Niall has been putting out some serious jams. "Slow Hands" could potentially be the song of the summer. Not only that but he's been getting up on stage and actually performing by himself which is a huge milestone. Between the One Love Manchester benefit concert to Capital FM Summertime Ball – Niall is really hitting it big.

Liam was backstage at the Summertime Ball and said he was going to totally fangirl over his pal when he played his set at the festival. Liam spilled, "I mean obviously there's going to be a lot of fangirling going on. I saw him when he did the Ariana [Grande] gig the other day which was amazing, I think he did so well. And the way he's handling it all at the moment I mean going out to these big audiences isn't easy so it's nice to see, I know myself it's amazing so hats off, if I had a hat on, it would be off."

Awww! The crazy part about this whole thing is that Niall never really wanted to do the solo stuff at all, even though he's literally slaying the game right now. In his newly released interview with Notion magazine, Niall said, "There was never a point where I thought about [going solo]. I wasn’t even planning on it at the start of last year, but then I just started writing songs because that’s what I knew how to do, and then I was like, ‘You know what? I like these songs; they’re very me’. So I showed them to management, and here we are."

And here we are indeed. We hate to break it to you Nialler but this solo thing looks good on you, it looks real good!
