Liam Payne acted downright weird AF after he performed his hit song, "Bedroom Floor" on the X-Factor. The former One Direction crooner literally walked off the front of the stage, went up to his girlfriend Cheryl Cole, took her by the arm and they both left. While the whole thing seemed bizarre, Liam has a good explanation. He said the producers actually told him to exit like that. However, by watching the footage, the host of the show, Dermot O'Leary, was just as confused as the rest of us.
Liam chatted with The Mirror at the Pride of Britain Awards and spoke of the incident. He said, "Producers told me to go this way and it looked like I was going out the front, bossed off the stage and took my missus and buggered off. But that's what I got told to do and I got so much stick for it. It was hilarious, storming off the stage and taking my missus." Kind of an odd request on the producers' end, to be honest. While the rest of the world was incredibly confused by his unconventional behavior, Liam just laughed it off.
Fans took to Twitter to express their thoughts. One Twitter user said, "Why did Liam just walk off the stage like that to Cheryl, I thought he was going to propose ? #XFactor."
Another said, "Bit unprofessional Liam, coming off the front of the stage during a live show to leave with your girlfriend #xfactor."
These producers that Liam is seemingly blaming for his abrupt and very weird exit, have yet to make a comment about the whole thing. But, we have a feeling they aren't too happy that he totally threw them under the bus. It made the energy in the room completely change. Not only did the audience seem to feel uncomfortable but obviously, looking at the tweets, the viewers did too. For some reason, though, we definitely believe the "Strip That Down" singer. He made a few appearances on that particular night of the show and didn't act strangely otherwise.
Dermot asked Liam which contestants he likes this season. Of course, he made a total dad joke. Liam said, "I think Kelvin [Davey White] is good. I think Rai-Elle did a great job of opening the show. And him [Rak Su], he fancies my missus so I’ve got to keep an eye on him!" LOL, okay, Liam, okay.
Speaking of his "missus", Cheryl was incredibly proud of her man during his performance and the world was watching. One fan took Twitter and said, "The way @CherylOfficial was so proud of @LiamPayne while he was performing ?? beautiful!! #XFactor."
These two have a really special kind of love. But, let's get one thing clear once and for all, storming out of the X-Factor with Cheryl just isn't his style. That was all someone else's doing. Liam was just merely following the rules. LOL.
