Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth gave shippers all the feels last week when they were both spotted at Tybee Island in Savannah, Georgia – the place where they had their first kiss while filming The Last Song. What really got heads turning during their trip down south was the fact that they were both wearing wedding bands. Or rings that looked like wedding bands. Now, reports are surfacing that the pair actually got married six months ago. While we'd like to believe this, we're just not sure if we can. It's true that the couple is super private so for them to get married in secrecy is no shock.
But, they've actually said numerous times that they aren't married during interviews over the course of the past half year. Not only that but Miley's mom, Tish Cyrus, also squashed the rumors. But, that doesn't stop some sneaky sources from running their mouths. An anonymous insider told NW magazine said the nuptials took place, "six months ago, way back in late April."
The particular source continued, "It was a very intimate ceremony at their house in Malibu. I'm told only a handful of people were there and they're still the only ones who know. Miley and Liam haven't really been making it public knowledge and don't plan to anytime soon." Hmmm...
If that wasn't enough, another source told OK! Magazine, "Miley is absolutely over the moon since she and Liam took the plunge and exchanged vows. Words cannot describe how much love they have for each other and they know they want to spend the rest of their lives together." While we do believe that these two know they want to spend the rest of their lives together, marriage is a huge commitment. Both of them are super young and involved in lots of projects right now as they also were super busy six months ago.
Not only that but Miley said herself that she hasn't really thought about marriage right now. She explained to The Sun on Sunday, "I don't envision marriage. I'm 24. I hope I get to live a little bit more. I have too much living to do [before I get married]...Three years ago, if you'd asked me if I'd be here, this happy with this man, I'd have been stunned. I'm just riding this out. In some relationships, you lose yourself by being with someone else. Actually, it made me find myself more. I have no idea what the next three years will bring, but if it's possible to get even happier, I'll take it." To be honest, we don't think she was lying here.
If Miley and Liam really are hitched then a huge congratulations is in order. However, we all may want to hold off on that. Until Miam confirms the news, we're just going to chalk this whole thing up to one big rumor. They'll walk down the aisle one day. Let's patiently wait for that to happen instead of rushing them. It seems like they are pretty good at figuring things out themselves.
