When I impulsively decided to buy the Jonas Brothers' first album, I had no idea of the obsession that would follow! At the time they were just a group of three young brothers from NJ, but I have been able to watch them grow up into stars. I have followed them on their wild journey of fame and success -- although the closest that I have come to meeting them is their wax figures at Madame Tussauds LOL! My love for the Jonas Brothers has taken me on some crazy adventures over the years, so here are my top 10 JB memories...
10. Backstreet Boys' Opening Act
I went to a Backstreet Boys concert one summer and one of the opening acts was a band called the Jonas Brothers. Although I didn't know who they were at the time, I was intrigued and kept an eye out for them. This ended up being the first of MANY performances that I would see by these brothers!
9. Rockaway Mall Performance
I was excited when I found out that the Jonas Brothers would be performing at a nearby mall. At the time they weren't overly popular, so I figured I would be able to go and see a somewhat intimate concert. Boy was I wrong! The entire mall was packed from one end to the other, and we couldn't find anywhere to stand! My friend and I hung out in a bookstore until the boys came out, and then everyone immediately rushed the stage!
8. The Trump Hotel
One night I got really crazy and decided to try and wait for the JoBros outside their hotel in NYC. Their tour buses pulled up and I went nuts, but unfortunately only their band members were coming to stay for the night. Although they didn't actually show up, it was such a rush thinking that I might actually get to meet them. And of course meeting their band was so awesome (Garbo is so cute!).
7. When You Look Me In The Eyes Tour (NJ)
My first official JB concert was on their When You Look Me In The Eyes tour. While driving into the arena, I really began to see just how much people loved them! Girls had decorated their cars and made posters and t-shirts. I didn't know it yet, but I would soon be one of those girls! My love for the Jonas Brothers quickly grew and has carried out across many years -- and also many states! Which brings me to moment #6...
6. World Tour (Arizona)
Last summer I was scanning through the list of Jonas tour dates, and I noticed that they were playing a show in Arizona -- at the same time I was going to be on vacation in Arizona (Fate? I think so)! I felt like since we were all the way out in Arizona, the boys and I shared our NJ connection!
5. Good Morning America
My GMA experience was unforgettable and very early in the morning! Waking up before 4 a.m., I traveled into NYC to hear the boys perform along with their Camp Rock 2 co-stars. They even did a couple songs off the air, just for us out in the audienc-- it was special!
4. Nick Jonas and the Administration Concert (NYC)
It was a nice and relaxing change of pace to watch Nick and his new band perform. Kevin even showed up to enjoy his brother's show, and he stood so close to my seat! I was just as amused watching Kevin as I was watching Nick on stage. It was so cute to see how proud Kevin was of his brother and how much they all support each other! (But I really wish Joe had been there too!)
3. Burnin' Up Tour (Indiana)
Once again the Jonas Brothers happened to have a concert in another state that I was in! I was all the way out in Indiana for my first go at the Burnin' Up tour. The energy on that stage was unreal! The boys pulled out all of their best moves for this show and were even doing flips across the stage!
2. World Tour (NJ)
I could not have asked for better seats for this concert! I was on the floor, only feet from the stage, and the boys were so close to me! Although the stage was a big crazy shape, they would frequently come right up near my seat & I even got sprayed with the foam that they shot out! This is the closest that I have ever been!
1. NYC TRL/Burnin' Up Tour/Album Release
My all time favorite JB memory was not one specific moment, but was over the course of few days. The boys' popularity was at its height, and NYC was alive and buzzing with Jonas fever. Their album A Little Bit Longer was due out the next day, and the excitement could not be stronger. The JoBros were set to appear on TRL for four straight days, and my friends and I thought there was no better way to try and grab their attention than to stand below the window the entire time. Surrounded by hundreds of fellow fans, we stood there for hours, sang Jonas songs, and patiently waited for the boys to come to the window and wave to us. It may not sound exciting, but it really was! We stood for all four tapings of TRL, and went to the Burnin' Up tour at Madison Square Garden in between! When an episode of TRL ended, everyone would make a mad dash to the closest side street so we could try and catch even the smallest glimpse of them getting into their cars. Those few days brought so much craziness (and a lot of screaming girls!), but I wouldn't have changed a thing!
These experiences have brought me entertainment, enjoyment, and lifelong memories! My love for the Jonas Brothers has stayed strong, and I am going to see them two days in a row when they come to NJ this summer! I can't wait to see them and make even more memories to add to this list!
