One Direction has announced their largest project yet: Action/1D. In fact, they are quite literally looking to change the world. The guys launched this worldwide endeavor on their Instagram page, and their goals seem pretty crazy. But we all know how much the 1D fandom can accomplish!
Though they're fairly cryptic in their initial message, we'll break it all down for you.
The effort is part of action/2015, a collective of organizations around the world that focus on change in poverty, climate change, and inequality around the world.
"In 2015 we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to change the world for the better. The decisions they make could mean no baby dies from a disease that could have been treated or prevented, every child gets the chance to go to school, that no one has to go hungry again, and we do more to tackle the dangers of climate change," 1D writes on their official page.
They're soliciting photos and videos from Directioners, showing what fans really care about. In September, they'll actually make a film from the contributions, presumably to show at the UN General Assembly and UN Climate Change Conference later this year. (You can submit here.)
We know how passionate the guys are about their charitable endeavors, so we're excited to see them take their love of changing the world to a whole new level. And they're getting fans involved too this time!
