Liam Payne is about to release his second solo single, “Bedroom Floor” and of course, we already have a theory behind the lyrics that he so graciously released early. The former One Direction heartthrob posted several lines from the song on his Instagram story and yes we already think the whole thing is about his girlfriend Cheryl Cole. Specifically about when she tried to end their relationship months ago. For those who may have been staying out of the One Direction news bubble, Liam admitted that Cheryl was ready to say bye, bye, bye to their fling. But, he persisted.

He chatted with, The Sun newspaper and said, “‘There’s one song [on his debut solo album] that is basically a phone call that happened between me and her when she was about to let it go. This is a long time ago. And it’s basically me trying to cling on and say: ‘No, no, no it’s all going to work out — don’t worry about it, give it time.'” Could “Bedroom Floor” be the song Liam referenced?

Let’s take a look at the lyrics. So far, we’ve seen them read, “You said it was over when you said it was over / But who you calling up when you get lonely? / When you get lonely / Yeah / But your clothes say different / On my bedroom floor / Baby heard you’ve been talking about me lately / Telling all your friends how much you hate me / Your clothes are saying something different now / You wanna break up just to fix it now / Oh baby / Baby why you always act like you don’t want me? / But who you calling up when you get lonely? / When you get lonely / Yeah.”

ALRIGHTY. THEN. Oh yeah, and there’s more. But, let’s take a look at this part first. He literally says ‘You wanna break up’ and we don’t know about you, but there’s no way he’s talking about any of his old girlfriends on this one. Not only that but he kind of calls her out for playing games and we kind of love it. It’s almost like he’s questioning why she would keep up with this back and forth of saying she wasn’t into him but then would come over and want to hook up with him. It’s all too much.

The lyrics continue, “You be saying real real nice real nice things / You be getting real real real real real jealous when it wasn’t you / When it wasn’t you oh / And every now and when my iPhone iPhone rings / I be telling you / I told you / I told you / I told you / You said it was over / You said it was over.”

BOOM. Sorry but all signs point to Cheryl. There’s so much he reveals. Who knew she was jealous when he was with other girls? WHAT other girls was he with exactly? When did she give up on telling him it was over? So many questions, Liam. But really, this has got to be about their relationship when it wasn’t as strong as it is today. The whole thing kind of makes it seem like she didn’t really know what she wanted in the beginning. There was lust but maybe she wasn’t sure if she could really fall in love with him. Clearly, things have changed.
