Perrie Edwards has been quite open about the hardships she went through after she and Zayn Malik decided to end their relationship.

The Little Mix singer has talked about what it was like to be homeless, and of course has used the group’s new music as a form of therapy. What Perrie hasn’t talked or acknowledged much was how it felt to deal with something so personal on such a public level.

The singer recently opened up about experiencing a breakup in the public eye while appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show with the rest of the group by admitting, “for a normal girl to go through something like that it's hard. I think when the whole world is looking at it and talking about it, you feel a bit [affected by it]. Obviously I didn't say too much about it, I briefly mentioned it.”

"I wasn't going to not mention it…You're in control at the end of the day and I briefly mentioned it, kind of said what happened but I would never get into detail because it is personal,” Perrie continued to say.

Though she wasn’t alone during this time. Perrie had the rest of Little Mix there for support, just as they were for the other girls when they dealt with their own breakups.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock also opened up about her own breakup and the support she got from her girls by saying, “I'm so lucky to have these girls and that's how we feel all the time. We're the best of friends.”

There’s nothing quite like having the support of your girls. As hard of a time the breakup was for Perrie, it’s understandable why she would want to keep most of the details to herself, and just put it all in the past once and for all. Though we can’t help but applaud her for sharing with fans just how hard of a time in her life it was.
