Selena Gomez and The Weeknd have been the talk of the town for the past month, and now fans are taking it as far as saying that the new IT couple has a strong resemblance to the “Good For You” singer’s parents when they were young!
A tweet that went viral and became a meme shared by a ton of Instagram accounts came to the realization that the Canadian singer and her dad Ricardo Gomez have similar features, especially in one particular photo.
“When you realize that selena and abel looks exactly like the parents of selena’s when they were younger,” the fan wrote sharing side by side images of the singers’ parents and one of her with her new beau.
Ok, it is clear that this might be a bit of a reach, but there are some similarities like the full cheeks, closed-mouth smile and the strong eyebrows. In the throwback photo, Mandy Teefy looks just like her daughter who is also pictured cradled in her mother’s arms. They became Selena’s parents at a young age, but it is a bit eerie how similar they look to Selena and Abel who are 24 and 26-years-old respectively.

We here at J-14 like to take things a step further so we found this recent photo of the new couple holding his manager’s newborn baby and once again, the resemblance is quite striking!
While this may be our eyes playing tricks on us, it is important to note that Sel’s parents are not together anymore. The young parents divorced when their daughter was about 5-years-old and both have since remarried. Mandy married Brian Teefey and had a daughter named Gracie with him, and this might also seem a bit far-fetched but if you place a selfie of them next to one of Justin Bieber and the “Kill ‘Em With Kindness” singer, it sort of feels like you are looking at the future.
Does Brian somewhat resemble Bieber? Does The Weeknd even remotely look like Selena’s biological father? Who knows! But what we do know is that hundreds and thousands of fans seem to think that some sort of resemblance exists here between Sel and her bae and her mother with hers.
