Rapper Colson “MGK” Baker came into our office recently and was super pumped for his upcoming projects including an album to be released this summer, a movie, and he also gave us some pretty good life advice!
After not releasing an album for a few years MGK is back and ready to show the world his new sound and what he is all about. He recently debuted a new music video for his song “A Little More,” which he directed himself and produced from scratch. With this song, he really wanted to show his fans how he views the world as a mature person.
“I’ve spoken a lot for people who aren’t spoken for,” he says, “I’ve always gave good music for kids at home that don’t know what to do with themselves, that feel like it's over everyday. I want to use my voice for something bigger.” We were totally inspired by his sound and his motivation to change the world through music.
The rapper is also working on the movie Nerve, which is based off of the YA book by Jeanne Ryan. He’s working with an all-star cast including Dave Franco (OMG) and Emma Roberts! He told us he plays a character named Ty who wasn’t a main character in the book but was written as a big role in the movie. We cannot wait to see it!
MGK even had some words of wisdom for teens out there. He spills, “Live for the moment, have fun, but realize that after the party is over you wake up and there is still a real world going on.” He wants people to finally see his message whether it be through music or acting. The future is lookin’ bright!
Will you buy MGK's new album this summer? Let us know in the comments!
